After that we made a quick trip to the museum of art and design to see the "Loot" show, which is modern jewelry, only to discover after we paid $19 admission that we were four days to early. However it's a wonderful museum anyway and they had some really cool beaded jewelry by an artist named Joyce Scott.
Then we hopped on the subway for the east village to meet Laura for dinner at the Moonstruck Diner. I haven't seen her for two years but we made some tenuous plans to go to SE harp conference next year and visit Nashville and Asheville.
She also gave us some tickets to go to Tailspin, a political satire at the Lynn Redgrave theatre, which was just a short, interesting, walk away. We had quite a bit of time to kill, so we stopped at Think Coffee, a cozy place with a mixture of hipsters and old timers. The neighborhood has been taken over by the under 30 crowd, it's near NYU, Cooper Union and I don't know what else. Tailspin was very funny with actors playing various role, but each male actor was representing one particular politician. All the dialog was words the politicians actually said or tweeted or whatever. There was one woman, a SNL veteran, who played all the female parts -- wives, lovers, hookers, Barbara walters, etc. we loved it.
