MISSED OPPORTUITIES

Today we had to get up early again which means before 10 o'clock because the viol dojo was here this morning.  We had planned to go to the craft fair and center anyway, but as it turned out it was raining, so we did laundry instead.
We finally went to Lincoln Center but only a few booths  were open because it had been raining so hard.
We decided to leave and  go back tomorrow when everyone was there.
Our second project of the day was to go to the Cat Cafe. Which is a cafe that has cats.  Or rather I should say was a café that had cats.  When we got down there, the building was closed and getting ready for a new restaurant that serves airplane food. That should be a real winner.
So we decided that if we couldn't go to their cat café, we will go to Katz's deli. Katz's deli is famous for the "I'll have what she's having" scene in the movie When Harry Met Sally.  However it was very crowded when we got there and we decided not to stay, and walked around the Bowery area instead.
Not that good a picture, but this building, the Bowrey Mission, has a beautiful stained glass window behind the dirty glass.
This is a completely leather-covered bicycle.

It was pretty interesting, and we had a few side excursions over into the Village.  This is a window full of Bob's Big Boy icons, and you can see in the top of the window that the original shop did Quality Mending.  Not much use for that today.
The Bowrey has shed its seedy image and is now hipster heaven.  Can gentrification be far behind?

Here's a real only in New York kind of sign.

And finally, we saw two similar signs today.  This one at Barnes and Noble -- apparently these are things only seniors would want,
And another similar one at the Bible Institute which said, Air conditioning, Free Wi-fi, Free restrooms.  Three things I find very important when traveling, but I still would have to be pretty desperate to go in.  Now that I think of it, I think it was pretty close to the mega Mormon center which has Moroni blowing his horn over Manhattan.
