SUPER SALESWOMAN

Yet another morning when John is feeling pretty crappy with his cold, so we took it easy this morning. We went to Seattle's Best Coffee for morning caffeine, and mostly so I could get a game card to win a trip to Hawaii. You see something odd in this? What I want most when I'm here is to know that I'm coming back. We checked out the food trucks on Twitter, though I'm a pretty hopeless Twitter user, not unlike my aptness with Facebook. Anyway, after that, I made the nerve wracking visit to the Nohea gallery, which is located in the tony Moana Surfrider hotel, to see if I could get someone to look at my Babes, which I have named ZenBabes for the local market. I was basically told to send an email to the owner but not to hold my breath, because they do 95 percent of their business with people who actually live in Hawaii. So I took the Babes I brought with me to the beach to take some pictures of them in Hawaii, but it was WAY too bright, so of course they didn't come out. Going to send the owner an email tonight with the pictures. There were two brides at the Moana Surfrider at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday. They do as much business in weddings at that hotel as a Las Vegas wedding chapel, but at a much higher price. I've heard it's about $20K and that the Japanese brides love to come to Hawaii for their weddings because it's so much cheaper than doing it in Japan. Egad!

We had lunch at Maui Taco, which is a sort of fusion Hawaiian-Mexican place, located in a food court, so I assume it's a chain. They have pineapple salsa to die for. We took a little walk, took a picture of a place Bill and Vera lived in the 50s and which is now a hostel, and came back to our hotel to wait for the State of the Union address -- John can't stand to miss a single word that falls from the President's mouth, and the endless analysis of it afterwards.
